Symbolic meaning of jade Toad in Chinese culture

Frogs and toads are amphibians, animals that begin their lives in the water (breathing with gills) and then, during maturity, live on land (breathing with lungs). The word amphibian means "double life." Frogs and toads are found all around the world, on all continents except Antarctica.

 

In Chinese culture the toads symbolic meaning is survivor, longevity, medicine and fertility. Because of these qualities the Toad image has been made of Jade, gold and bronze material for decorating Palaces, businesses and homes.  Chinese have a long history of associating toad images with health, wealth and happiness.

 

Power breath of Jade Toad breathing exercise is a special technique to help you use the existing energy in your body to keep your body functioning and to manage eating less or go without eating food. This technique was very popular in China in the 1980s, if you can master this technique you can go without food for a few days and not feel hungry or uncomfortable.

 

Obesity now is a big health issues in developed country. We live in the modern world, we are spoilt with availability and convenience of plenty of food; we are easily over eating, over entertaining. I have personal experience with “Power breath of Jade” in present times. For the last 20 years I manage to keep my weight about 54kg.My brother visited New Zealand for 2months from November last year to January this year. He tries to look after me when I am working. The meals he cooks are not my daily style. I put on 2kg, my weight became 56kg.

 

I start to practice Power breath of Jade for a week. My weight is now back to 54kg.I feel so much better in myself and look good in my clothes.
